I think we forget.
We let most of our life wash over us. We unconsciously follow our daily routines, unaware of the value being lost.
Rarely do we live in the present. Instead we are overly focused on the filler; things we unconsciously fill our life with. I think we forget that each and every day can be an entire lifetime if you slow down to appreciate it.
Today I took the time to slow down. I took the time to lavish in the beauty that every day brings. I grew old in the sun, warm by a fire and wiser in a book. I stood in awe of nature, breathing the fresh air that revitalised my dampened soul.
Today I took the time to live presently for the whole day. I remained with both hands on the wheel and never let habit take over. That’s how I find we live most of our lives; through habit, not entirely present in the now. Not appreciating the simple moments of happiness that life brings.
Take the time to come back to the now. Bask in the sunlight and truly admire its power. Marvel over the usually mundane that we take for granted each day; a tree, the sun, life itself. Remember that each moment is only yours once, so be present in it and admire it with your total conscious.
